Marla takes a drugged Lt. Gary Hale to Dr. S. Diman for an examination, not knowing Diman once served under General Bruno. Lt. Hale's plane disappears soon afterward, and he is believed dead. Baroness Erica von Kampf, former wife of Gary Hale (marriage annuled), searches for him, only to find she now has a 3 1/2 year old son (Gary Hale, Jr.) by him. She learns of the Lt.'s death. Dr. Diman claims guardianship of little Gary, and Erica tries to get him back. Marla, staying at the same hotel as the other two, hears little Gary crying, and takes him under her protection. Dr. Diman searches for the child, discovers the Baroness' intention to kill him, then finds the boy with Marla. He leaves with Gary Jr., followed by the Baroness, who, in turn, is followed by Marla.
