Successfully completing her mission high above the city on the back of Grazno's sky-cycle, Aphrodite is shot down, only to awaken tattered and on the ground with no memory of what she had done just moments earlier. Mysteriously, Aphrodite is found by Neville, who brings her back to his apartment. Aphrodite again suffers nightmares of her past and she awakens in Neville's empty apartment. Terrified and confused, she flees into the night and finds herself at a mysterious cathedral that she seems to recall from deep within the recesses of her memory, and once inside, she encounters Burch, although she does not remember him. Their conversation is short lived, as they are ambushed from all sides by security forces looking to arrest Aphrodite. As Burch disappears, Aphrodite barely defeats her adversaries, only to come face to face with an even greater foe, Abarxis...
